The Volunteer Inn, as you might expect, plays an important part at the centre of the Great Somerford community, a delightful village not far from Malmesbury in Wiltshire.
And now, after a complete refurbishment in 2017, the pub is back to its very best, with your hosts Adrian, Riana & Charlie! welcoming guests seeking us out for good food & drink - and very good country walks nearby.
Generations of locals have enjoyed the comfortable surroundings at the pub over the years. And when Arkell's took over in 2007, they preserved the tradition of what everyone wants from their local, country pub, namely: home-cooked, affordable food, well-kept ales and a good selection of wines, plus, of course, a friendly welcome.
Best of all, we are delighted to offer a function room space - with skittle alley - for everyone to gather in for celebrations & parties, and where the pub really feels part of village life here in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside.
